Hoosier Enquirer - An Indiana man has been arrested for intimidation after allegedly posting threats against Elon Musk on X – the app formerly known as Twitter that Musk now owns.
David A. Cherry, 28, was apprehended on Tuesday by police in southern Indiana following allegations of posting life-threatening statements directed at Musk on the social media platform.
Cherry, residing in Palmyra, has been charged with one count of felony intimidation. The arrest came after Texas law enforcement contacted Indiana State Police early Tuesday morning, pointing to an X account they believed belonged to Cherry. Texas officials alleged that earlier this month, Cherry had made threats against Musk on the platform, though specifics of these threats were not disclosed.
Acting on the tip, Indiana State Police detectives located Cherry in Clarksville. After his arrest, a search warrant was executed at his home in Palmyra where authorities discovered:
- An AR-15-style rifle
- A handgun
- Ammunition
- A ballistic vest
Following the search, Cherry was transported to Harrison County Jail, where he was booked on one count of Intimidation, classified as a Level 5 Felony. He is being held without bond at this time.
