Newly Elected Center Township Constable Kenneth Allen Faces Criminal Complaint for Election Fraud, Voter Fraud and Perjury

ree

In a shocking turn of events, Kenneth Allen, the newly elected Democratic Center Township Constable, is now embroiled in controversy just weeks after winning his seat in a special election. A criminal complaint has been filed against Allen, accusing him of voter fraud, perjury, and election fraud. The allegations stem from claims that Allen falsely declared residency within the district to qualify for the position.

Allen’s victory on November 8, three days after the General Election, came during a special election held to replace former Constable Denise Paul Hatch. Hatch was removed from office after taking a plea deal on multiple felony charges, including one that disqualified her from holding office under Indiana law. Now, Allen could potentially face a similar fate, raising questions about the Democratic Party’s vetting process and the stability of the office.

The heart of the complaint centers on Allen’s alleged false claim of residency within Center Township. Perjury and election fraud charges often accompany such allegations, as candidates are required by law to reside in the district they wish to represent. If Allen is charged and subsequently convicted, it would mark the third time a Center Township Constable has been removed from office due to felony charges.

This development has thrown Center Township into political turmoil once again. The office of the Constable, which oversees the execution of civil court orders and provides various community services, is vital to the township’s governance. Repeated leadership disruptions could undermine public confidence in the institution.

If Allen is removed from office, Democratic Precinct Committee members in Center Township will be required to hold yet another special election. This process could further strain an already embattled party apparatus and raise concerns about accountability within local Democratic leadership.

Allen’s potential removal would be the latest chapter in a troubling pattern for the Center Township Constable’s office. Denise Paul Hatch’s fall from grace earlier this year highlighted significant challenges within the township, and Allen’s situation only exacerbates the instability. These incidents cast a shadow over the office and raise broader concerns about the integrity of the local electoral process.

As of now, no charges have been formally filed against Allen. We did reach out to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office and they did NOT confirm if they were going decide to move forward, the case will likely involve an investigation into Allen’s residency claims and his qualifications to run for office. Should the allegations prove true, Allen could face removal, fines, and potentially even jail time.

The Democratic Party’s precinct committee members will face the unenviable task of organizing another special election to fill the vacancy if Allen is removed. This would further complicate the township’s leadership and could lead to increased scrutiny from voters and political opponents alike.
