Teen Faces Trial With Higher Bond in Crash That Killed Hamilton Southeastern Grad

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — A Hamilton County judge set a $50,000 bond for 18-year-old Trey Williams, charged in a March 1 crash that killed Mason Alexander, a Hamilton Southeastern graduate and Pitt freshman football player. Williams, 17 at the time, will face a jury trial on October 6, 2025.

The crash on Florida Road in Fishers occurred when Williams, driving a BMW at 56 mph in a 35 mph zone, swerved to pass another vehicle. Dash-cam footage showed his actions caused Alexander’s RAV-4 to lose control and crash, killing the 18-year-old. Court records revealed Williams had three driver’s licenses with a false birth year.

Alexander, a two-time all-state cornerback and four-star recruit, had recently enrolled at Pitt. “Mason is a special young man who is going to be dearly missed,” said HSE coach Michael Kelly. The case, moved to adult court on May 30, has sparked calls for justice from Alexander’s family, who allege reckless homicide.
