INDIANAPOLIS — Fever coach Stephanie White remains optimistic about Sydney Colson’s recovery following an upper left leg injury sustained during Friday’s game, a critical development with star player Caitlin Clark still sidelined.

Colson was injured in the first quarter of the Fever’s loss to the Connecticut Sun. She collided with Sun guard Jacy Sheldon near the Fever bench, and Sheldon fell onto Colson’s leg as both players went down.

While Sheldon rose without issue, Colson remained on the court, clutching her leg. White called a timeout to allow trainers to assist Colson, who stood after a brief period. Unable to return, she remained in the huddle during the timeout and then walked to the locker room unassisted, though cautiously.

With Clark still out, Colson’s potential absence could significantly impact the Fever’s lineup, making her swift recovery crucial for the team’s performance. The Fever see next action at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. on June 3rd in a rematch with the Washington Mystics at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. HE will cover that game and the game when Clark makes her return.
