Don’t Be Fooled: Washington Democrat’s Great AI Freak-Out is Another Hoax. The Dumocrats that are scary, not AI

Just do it
Just do it

WASHINGTON — It makes no sense to even the most intelligent.

Ask artificial intelligence why Washington Dems who have never been right are suddenly freaking out about artificial intelligence, and the answer is considerably more interesting than the hysteria.

AI has gone from technological marvel to political boogeyman almost overnight.

Democrats want to talk about anything but their record, open boarders, inflation unleased, housing costs unaffordable, child mutilation, denial of parental and grandparents rights, drugs like fentinol killing so many, and fraudsters robbing taxpayers, and increasing fees and taxes and electric costs, while crying wolf about climate, vaxinating healthy chidren, teaching them pronows in pre school and promoting sexual exposure and drag queens while defending police and the long list of failures continues...oh yeah men in women's sports. They are crazy. Not you. Don't beleif the same lunatics now about AI the industry leaders want weak government and they are able to control their risks as they are planning IPOs. They are the oligarchs afterall. It makes no sense! Be intelegent to understand AI is just that artificial and the models won't kill you they will aid the US in a productivity gain, like Windows-95 did.

Democratic politicians are demanding urgent action, former President Barack Obama has urged Democrats to make AI oversight a major issue, and Sen. Bernie Sanders is talking about stopping the development of artificial superintelligence altogether. Cable television has discovered “AI doomsday,” and suddenly Americans are being asked to contemplate machines wiping out humanity.

It makes for terrific television. It also deserves considerably more skepticism.

The immediate panic did not materialize from nowhere. Former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon resigned and publicly warned that people developing advanced AI believe it could threaten humanity. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has separately argued that the development of frontier AI should be paced more carefully. Other major figures in the industry have likewise called for stronger safeguards.

So there are legitimate questions here. AI can disrupt employment, supercharge cybercrime, create convincing deepfakes, concentrate enormous economic power and potentially enable dangerous biological or technological capabilities. Americans themselves are worried: a Pew Research Center survey this summer found 71% believe AI will result in fewer American jobs during the next 20 years.

But legitimate risk is different from panic. Panic is a political tactic when we need to rally around the flag and keep the Adult/Republicans in charge in D.C. and in Indiana. Byah is not the right choice for the office that oversees elections, period.

That distinction seems to disappear whenever Washington discovers its newest emergency. Democrats are increasingly trying to turn AI regulation into a political issue heading toward the midterm elections. Obama has urged his party to develop an AI agenda, while some Democrats in Congress are demanding immediate federal intervention.

Before surrendering another enormous American industry to Washington regulators, voters might remember something else: we have seen the political-media panic machine before.

This is the same political culture that turned Michael Avenatti into a television celebrity before his spectacular fall. It is also a media establishment whose COVID-era reporting frequently treated Anthony Fauci and other public-health authorities with insufficient skepticism, even as important scientific and policy questions remained disputed or evolved over time.

That history does not prove today's AI warnings are wrong. It proves that Americans should demand evidence before accepting the most frightening version of them.

And there is another fact getting lost in the Democratic-versus-Republican storyline: concern about AI is bipartisan. Republican lawmakers including Sens. John Thune and Ted Cruz and Rep. Anna Paulina Luna have also called for government attention to advanced AI risks. The serious debate therefore isn't whether Democrats are scared and Republicans aren't. It is how America manages genuine risks without frightening itself into surrendering technological leadership.

That matters because China is not going to stop developing artificial intelligence simply because Washington becomes nervous.

The United States can establish rules against criminal misuse, require sensible safeguards for genuinely dangerous systems, protect Americans from fraud and deepfakes, and insist upon human accountability without strangling the technology that could transform medicine, manufacturing, education, defense and productivity.

Americans should be especially suspicious of anyone presenting only two choices: regulate AI aggressively or watch humanity disappear.

There is a third choice. Stay informed. Stay skeptical. Keep America innovating. Regulate demonstrable dangers rather than science-fiction nightmares. And don't trust the people who gave us so much misinformation in the past. Who can believe them crying wolf again.

We should have all died by now due to global warning, and now we have "new existential threat to humanity and democracy." Yes we do, that existential threat is the Democrats!

AI may eventually prove to be one of the most consequential technologies since electricity. That makes careful oversight important. It also makes political exploitation of public fear particularly dangerous.

Washington's AI freak-out has arrived and it makes no sense again....the woke crazies are mentally ill and they hope you are too.

Don't be fooled by the news cycle. Ask questions — including questions of AI itself.  China must be loving it again. AI is safe and so why are they so wrong over and over?
